Great moments in English major snobbery

From ESPN.com:

The race to St. Louis is on, and the pole positions go to Illinois, North Carolina, Duke and surprising Washington. Who will emerge from the 65-team bracket? Early returns show the Nation likes the Heels.

Becuase apparently Katha Pollitt and David Corn spent Sunday guzzling Beast Lite and talking about how the Illini's RPI was below the bullcrap line and DeMarcus Nelson all by his lonesome is a sad excuse for a bench.

Ha ha. Okay, predictions.

First round upsets: Iowa over Cincinnati, Ohio over Florida.

Mid-tournament: The first ACC team to play Washington, be it Georgia Tech or Wake, will beat them. Duke over Syracuse in OT, then over Kentucky by 7.

Final Four: Wake vs. Illinois, Duke vs. UNC. If the latter match-up happens, it will be a better show than the 1992 Duke-Kentucky game that made Thomas Hill cry. The finals will be a freaking afterthought.
