ESPN Should Not Be Allowed Within 50 Feet of Actual News

So the 2006 Hot Dog Eating Contest is on TV, and as Kobayashi is about to take the stage, and the ESPN announcers run a cheesy tribute to the history of Coney Island and how the place is going to just keep getting better. The screen shows a montage of black and white Island memories, and then segues into the sharp, colorful images of local developers talking about just how happy everyone is about the way Coney Island is changing now.

It's all baloney, same last year as this year. But at the end of the montage, the commentator gushed "Isn't it great?" Sigh. One more reason to get nauseous watching.

Can't wait to see how the Four Letter (and competitor to my employer) deals with this tomorrow.
