Right Up My Alley

Via Jackfruity on BlogAfrica, I see that a number of folks are promising themselves that they'll read six "Africa" books in 2008. Since I've got a newborn girl to keep an eye on, I decided to pick some slim ones. I pledge to read:

• Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight
• A Bend in the River
• The Life and Times of Michael K
• Beasts of Not Nation
• Things Fall Apart
• In the Land of Magic Soldiers
  

I reserve the right to abandon any of these should slimmer/better options arise in the New Releases aisle. Regardless, thanks to this fellow Dave for getting the idea out there. With luck, this will help me make up for the more awful reading decisions I made in in 2007.
